Getting to Know Emily

About Us

Hi everyone! Here is a little bit about me and why I love travel!

My first (vague) memory of travelling is when I was 2, my family went on a holiday to America. There is an old home video of me the day we were leaving saying we were going to Honolulu (which is pretty cute if I do say so myself!), and from then on travel was a big part of my childhood. I was very lucky to grow up with parents who worked hard to take our family on holidays throughout my childhood. We went to places like USA, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, New Caledonia, Bali, Europe and many others, and I believe this instilled my passion for travel.

After school I went straight to University and then into full time work. 2 and a half years later, I dropped everything and made one of the toughest but best decisions of my life; I moved to London. From London, the parts of the world I wanted to see were so accessible (and didn’t require a whole day’s worth of flights!) and I wasn’t tied down to full time employment. I LOVE history and places like Greece, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey seemed so far away. Living in London allowed me to see these and so many more, and when I got there I felt like I was dreaming!

I have now been lucky enough to travel to 49 countries, but I still have quite a few left on my bucket list! I am so excited to share these memories and moments with you all on our blog. As an indecisive person, these questions were a nightmare (thanks Kristy!), but here you go!

Wifi and my phone
19.If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
Kristy and I discussed this, definitely teleporting. How good would it be to never have to fly ever again?!
20.What would you do if you won the lottery?

21.What’s the tallest building you’ve been to the top of?
The One World Trade Centre in New York
22.What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done abroad?
Swimming with sharks and stingrays in Bora Bora…anyone who knows me understands that my biggest fear are sharks!
23.What is your favourite movie?
I’m more of a TV series kind of girl, but I would have to say Legally Blonde or Bridesmaids

Shot glasses
25.What song would you say best sums you up?
“I Was Here”- Beyonce

“Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer”, this quote is one of my all time favourites. It’s so important to get out of your bubble, see the world and meet people from different walks of life to appreciate what we have been given!

Happy travels xx
